the Chocolate Shih Tzu
Chocolate Shih Tzu
All of our dogs, including the puppies, are chocolate based. What does this mean? Chocolate, a form of liver color, is the underlying genetic color of all of our dogs. This genetic color is then passed down to all puppies. Although the dogs may be dark chocolate at birth, this does not mean they will stay that way. Shih Tzu are notorious for their lightening and darkening coats as they age. A dark chocolate puppy may gradually change to a light strawberry or lavender color. And then, they may darken again. It's also common for white spots/hairs to grow in where there were none before. Its the Shih Tzu way!
